2026-27 School Meal Survey
One of the main goals of the Alliance since our founding has been to make sure that all SDW students have enough good quality food to eat so that they’re ready to learn. Now that we’re about a month into the 2026-27 school year, we’d like to hear from YOU about your experiences with school meals. We’ve put together a brief survey to collect information to better inform our advocacy. Please take a few minutes to answer the questions, and share the survey widely so that we get as many responses as possible!
Waukesha School Board Member Eric Brooks Infringes on First Amendment
Eric Brooks is more interested in playing politics and infringing on the rights of Americans than he is serving the students and families in Waukesha. With this in mind, the Alliance for Education in Waukesha views Brooks as unfit to serve on the school board and calls on him to resign.
Discussing the Impact of April’s Election

SDW’s Failure to Launch Optimizing Our Future Plan
Yesterday, the School District of Waukesha (SDW) attempted the first step of implementing the Optimizing Our Future (OOF) plan, which the school board had approved in November as a way to “right size” the footprint of the district. The Alliance for Education in Waukesha (AEW) is a parent-led organization, founded in January 2021, that is dedicated to safe, healthy and strong public schools in Waukesha. New Petition Alert: Slow Down “Optimizing Our Future”
We all want to make sure our students’ needs are kept front and center in the “Optimizing Our Future” process in SDW. As the process moves forward, it’s clear that ALL students will potentially be impacted by the proposed changes and that the community has many questions and concerns that have yet to be addressed. The Alliance for Education in Waukesha calls on School District of Waukesha community members to attend the next school board meeting on Wednesday, September 10th at 6:30pm to demand a pause to all “Optimizing Our Future” votes or action until an impact study is completed. We ask the community to stand united in efforts to ensure a bright future for all of Waukesha’s students.
