About the Alliance

“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.” -Margaret J. Whealey

Community. That is what binds us all together. Whether it be your school or work community, the neighborhood you live in or the city you call home. We are all in this together.

That sense of community and desire to do more is what brought the Alliance for Education in Waukesha together. We are all different people with different skills, yet connected by the draw to do more.

The Alliance for Education in Waukesha

The Alliance for Education in Waukesha was founded in January 2021 by a group of parents who originally came together to advocate for their children’s health and safety in the face of the COVID pandemic. Since that time, we have grown rapidly and expanded our focus to include making sure no kids are going hungry, standing up for LGBTQIA+ students, supporting our teachers and staff, and so much more.

We are people just like you. We are the parents, grandparents, guardians, relatives, and neighbors of SDW students. We want what’s best for all the kids in this district. We are working to build a safe, productive, and healthy learning environment for everyone.
